With GoOrca,  you can connect with commuting buddies who work at the City of Vancouver and/or Vancouver Coastal Health, live near you, and work similar schedules. Use GoOrca's internal chat function to form carpools, work out the logistics, or just give yourself a back-up commuting plan. 

Beginning in January 2020, GoOrca will also become the City's dedicated platform for active commuting rewards! Just create an account and begin logging your walking and biking commutes. You will start accumulating points that allow you to enter contests and attain milestone prizes, or you can trade them in for gift cards!

About Us

GoOrca

GoOrca is a collaborative offering from the City of Vancouver and Vancouver Coastal Health, and is available to all City, Parks, VPD, VPL, and VFRS staff. It was initially launched in 2018 as a carpool ride-matching platform, and has since expanded into rewards and incentives for active commuting. Within the City of Vancouver, GoOrca is administered by the Sustainable Commuting Program.

Sustainable Commuting Program (SCP)

The SCP is a function of Human Resources at the City of Vancouver, and exists to encourage staff to try a more environmentally-friendly commute mode. While it was historically only available to City Hall Campus staff, the SCP is in the process of expanding its offerings to all City worksites. Learn more about the SCP and its expansion here.
